TOPCOAT ALL THE BENEFITS OF NATURAL WOOD WITH ALL THE PROTECTION OF A TRADITIONAL TOPCOAT
Every item we produce is fully sealed from bottom to top. Our topcoat is nearly undetectable, revealing the genuine essence of wood while withstanding spills and regular cleaning.
To tell if wood has been sealed, place a droplet of water on the wood’s surface. If a topcoat has been applied, the liquid remains on the surface and does not penetrate the wood’s fibers.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS - NO COASTERS NECESSARY
For a daily cleaning, simply use a damp soft cloth followed by a dry cloth. When a cleaner is needed, use a mild soap and wipe dry and in the direction of the grain. Avoid applying heat directly on wood’s surface or use of harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning materials. Not made for outdoor use.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Our current collection is made from hem fir which has similar staining and finishing attributes as pine and poplar.
1. PREP: Prepare the Wood - Clean, sand or condition the wood. Preparing the wood’s surface will aid in getting the best results. Our wood is reclaimed and prepared to accept stain (although may need further prep work may be needed for paint).
2. TEST: Test in an inconspicuous spot to make sure the finish will give the intended result before staining the entire project.
3. STAINING: Always sand, stain in the direction of the wood grain, never against it to allow for the stain to soak in properly. Apply in even, thin coats and remove access stain from the wood’s surface. The use of a wood conditioner will help the stain absorb evenly by soaking into the wood, this is especially true is the stain color is medium to light in color. (This will help avoid blotchiness when staining.) Let the stain completely dry following the manufacturer instructions. [Safety precautions: Wear gloves and appropriate protective gear, as well as being in a well-ventilated area, when working with stain.]
4. DURABLE TOPCOAT: Apply a sealant or durable polyurethane topcoat to protect the stain and enhance the wood’s durability and hardness. The wood we’re currently working with will require a hardening topcoat to insure durability.
